How dangerous can the wrong medicine be?

Medication Without Harm:

It is the first medical conference in Eastern India where doctors, nurses and pharmacists come together and discuss drug defects.

In taking care of health, one also faces losses.  Sometimes the wrong treatment method, sometimes taking the wrong medicine—increases the risk of disease in people.  Also, taking medicines without doctor's advice sometimes increases the risk of serious diseases.  For this reason, World Patient Protection Day is celebrated on September 17 every year.  The theme for 2022 is 'Medication Without Harm'.  This year, the World Health Organization has focused on raising awareness of drug-related harm.  A 'Medication Safety Conference' was organized by Peerless Hospital on this issue.

The theme of the 'Medication Safety Conference' was to make people aware of unsafe drug use and its side effects.  This is the first medical conference in East India to discuss how medication errors put patients at risk.  Oncology, gastro, critical care, pediatric, how important it is to use the right medicine and how to use medicine, how much to use is discussed in this medical conference.

Doctors in the state are also worried about the rise in dengue on World Patient Protection Day. Kolkata has the highest number of dengue cases in the state. In this context, doctor Shubhrajyoti Bhowmik told TV9 Bangla in an interview that the number of dengue cases is increasing so people should be more aware. If you have a fever, do not rely on paracetamol alone. Elderly and pregnant women should contact the doctor immediately. Water should not be allowed to accumulate around the house and mosquito nets should be used to prevent the spread of dengue.
