Says the Liverpool legend 'Casemiro is not a great player, he was bought at a high price'

 

Casemiro joined Real Madrid for only 6 million euros in 2013.  He was 22 years old then.  Real Madrid sold 30-year-old Casemiro to Manchester United for 7 million euros after 8 years.  Liverpool legend Graeme Sounage told the opposite while there were high hopes for the Brazil midfielder at Old Trafford.  According to him, Casemiro is not really a great player despite his many team achievements for Real;  At his age, he doesn't deserve that much money.

Casemiro has won a total of 18 titles including 5 Champions League, 3 La Liga for Real.  At this time, he got Toni Kroos and Luka Modric as teammates in the midfield.  Former Liverpool captain and football-analyst Sounage believes that Casemiro's success is due to the role of his team-mates, 'He is not a big player;  Played with great players.  Was never a big player himself.  I think he is a player who can play whatever he needs.  This will strengthen United's midfield.  But long passing does not seem to be able to do very well;  Because of this, others will not be able to help much.  Real's midfield was full of ball-possessing players.

Saunage, who played 539 matches in England's top league over 21 years, was also captain of the Scotland national team.  Won 5 league and 3 Champions League trophies for Liverpool.  According to him, Casemiro is fine as a 'moveable' player, but United bought him at a high price, 'but he is over 30.  7 million euros is too much at this age.

When French midfielder Paul Pogba was at Manchester United, Sounage used to make very harsh comments about Pogba.  However, not only Sounage, former United defender Rio Ferdinand also made negative comments about Casemiro.  "There are some downsides," Ferdinand added, adding that Erik ten Haag's side would have a stronger midfield with the Brazil midfielder.  He is 30 years old.  I wouldn't say it's a huge downside, but if you think about it from a business point of view, you won't get much from reselling it.  And it will not be easy for Casemiro, who comes from Spain, to adapt himself to a team that has lost confidence.

Casemiro, however, saw Manchester United on a high on the first night after arriving in Manchester from Madrid, as United beat Sounage's former club Liverpool at Old Trafford.  However, he did not play in this match.  He could make his Premier League debut on Saturday against Southampton.
