Review of 43rd BCS Written Exam Questions

 Bangladesh

                                  advice

The written examination of the 43rd BCS compulsory subject ended last Sunday.  According to Bangladesh Public Service Commission (PSC), 1,558 out of 15,229 candidates were absent from the written examination this time.  Every year at the end of the written examination there are various discussions among the candidates about the questions.  This time is no exception.  Whether the question is easy or difficult, many discussions have been seen on social media.  43rd BCS Written Exam Compulsory Questions reviewed by Tariq Rahman recommended in 40th BCS (Administrative Cadre, Merit Class IV)

english

A review of 41st and 43rd BCS questions shows that the English passages are from recent and important issues.  English passage in 41st BCS was climate change-related and in 43rd BCS was related to Covid-19.  Those with a rich vocabulary and good basic English are expected to score well in English Part I as the passages come from common topics.  Those who have little weakness in English will also get average marks in this section as the passage is easy and common.

A review of the English essays of the past BCS shows that the essays are usually from creative subjects.  As 'Mujib Varsh' comes as essay in 43rd BCS, it is expected that most of the candidates wrote the essay well in the exam.  The translation 'Padma Bridge' and 'Jahangirnagar University' - being related - had a fairly common topic.  Here's hoping everyone writes well.

Bangladesh affairs

BCS Written Exam Syllabus in Bangladesh Subjects: Geography, Economy, Population, Agriculture, Environment, Government Management and Elections, Constitution, Language Movement and Liberation War and Development of Bangladesh have very standard questions.  As the questions are syllabus based, hope everyone writes well and gets good marks.  It can be assumed that there will be such syllabus-based questions in the written examination in future and BCS as well.

 International Affairs

Conceptual and empirical part of international affairs followed the syllabus but problem solving part was not as traditional as previous BCSs.  Since PSC does not provide any traditional problem solving or policy in the problem solving section, this is correct.  There is no scope for negative comments or criticism about it.

Mathematical reasoning and mental skills

For those who practice maths regularly, it is possible to score well in this question.  Except for 2 or 3 questions most of the questions are from 9th-10th standard and higher math books.  Due to lack of practice many did not perform as well as expected in the Maths section.  It is not a big problem.  Because, the questions of the mental skill section are easy to fill this gap.  Math questions from 41st BCS to 43rd BCS have become comparatively difficult.

 General Science

A review of previous BCS general science questions shows that the questions are syllabus oriented and this time too is no exception.  Computer section has very common and syllabus oriented questions.  Some questions are repeated.  Electrical and Electronics section is intimidating for non-science students but this time the questions are easy.  Hope everyone answered well here.

Bangla

Bengali grammar parts, expansions, gist or summaries have been common and traditional.  6 out of 10 literature questions are common and remaining 4 are relatively difficult.  No one can answer these four questions very well because they don't have a good understanding of them.  Translation made easy.  As the translation comes from Roman Mythology, those who have guessed will get good marks.

Imaginary dialogues and letters are very recent issues.  Hope those who read the magazine regularly have done well in this section.  By reviewing the BCS questions, it can be seen that Bengali composition comes creatively.  Since 'my childhood' is a common theme here, I hope those who wrote it have been able to keep their creativity.

Those who have passed the 43rd written exam, if you think the exam is good, then prepare for the oral exam.  And those who will give the 44th written exam in the future, they can do better by using the experience of this written exam.  Good luck to all.
