Suryakumar Yadav can play lap shots, late cuts, ramp shots over the keeper's head.  It is not because you play unorthodox shots that you cannot play grammatically correct shots.  He is also called a 360 degree batsman because he can play all kinds of shots around the field!

You must know who has been wearing this title recently.  A few days ago, Australian legend Ricky Ponting compared Yadav with De Villiers in terms of stroke play and batsmanship.  Not only Ricky Ponting, Suryakumar Yadav has already been accompanied by many other greats.

Suryakumar is on the Asia Cup 'player to watch' list of many former cricketers including Wasim Akram.  So Suryakumar in the discussion before entering the field in the first match of the Asia Cup.  So much so that many feel that he can be Rohit Sharma's trump card in the first match against Pakistan.

Recent form also speaks for him.  Suryakumar has been performing well in his short career in international T20.  Played 23 T20s for India at an average of 37.33.  The real glory is in the strike rate, which is eye popping...175.45!  Rising to number two in the ICC T20 rankings is also proof of Suryakumar's radiating radiance like the sun.

India lost to Pakistan by 10 wickets in the last match between the two teams in the 2021 T20 World Cup.  After that there were many changes in the Indian team, also in tactics.  India are more aggressive after Rahul Dravid came in as coach.  That mindset is most compatible with a cricketer like Suryakumar.
From opening to middle order, this right-handed batsman has batted at many places in his T20 career of 23 matches.

He played an innings of 117 off 55 balls against England at Nottingham at number four.  Opener Suryakumar was seen again in the last tour against West Indies.  He also played an innings of 76 runs as an opener.  Apart from this, he played at number three, he was also seen at number five.
There is curiosity about where Suryakumar will bat in the match against Pakistan.  Because Rohit Sharma has already announced that his team will not stop experimenting even in the Asia Cup.

Suryakumar Yadav doesn't seem to mind.  Be it opening or middle order - he is equally comfortable everywhere.  It is only the opposition bowlers who feel uncomfortable when Suryakumar comes out to bat.

Suryakumar plays best on the leg side.  Flick plays very well especially in the backward square leg.  Hasan Rauf, which will help get runs against Mohammad Hasnain.  However, the big question is where Suryakumar's batting order will be in the match against Pakistan, because Rohit has already announced that his team will not stop testing even in the Asia Cup.
