Fulbaria City Super Market of Gulistan in the capital. A young man named Saiful stabbed a child named Yusuf (9). This incident happened on Wednesday afternoon. The child studied in the second grade in a madrasa in the Jayakali Mandir area of Old Dhaka. The doctor said that the condition of Yusuf under treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital is critical.
Police said the child's father had been selling lungis on rent from Saiful, the attacker at Mohammad Ali Market. The child was injured by Saiful's stabbing. Saiful has been arrested.
According to the police and the injured child's family, Yusuf, a madrasa, lives with his parents in Jayakali Mandir area of Old Dhaka. On Wednesday he wants to go to the shop with his father. Yusuf was later taken by his maternal grandfather to his father's shop in Kabir Hossain City Supermarket. The child was walking in front of the shop around 2 pm. Then suddenly Saiful came and stabbed Yusuf. Hearing his screams, the people of the market came forward and arrested Yusuf and handed him over to Shahbag police station. The child's two arms, legs and stomach were injured.
The child's father Mohammad Ali told Prothom Alo that he has been doing business in that market for a long time. He also owns a shop. However, he has been selling lungi in the shop by renting a shop from the Saifuls. Yusuf came to visit there. At the time of the incident, he (Mohammed Ali) had gone to pray. Come back and find out what happened. Saiful told him 'I couldn't help you, I killed your son.' Although he could not explain the reason for the stabbing, the child's father believed that Saiful did it out of 'violence'. Because Saiful used to say 'You were the employee of our shop. Now you have become the owner and you feel great.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Ramana Division. Shahidullah told Prothom Alo that Saiful stabbed the child due to a business dispute with the child's father. A case is being filed against the detained Saiful at Shahbag police station.
